Fager Mattias is the perfect bit for sensitive and anxious horses that need a consistent, soft, and inviting feel. The sweet iron material encourages the horse to take the bit and relax, while the reversed center piece, tongue relief, and locking function distribute pressure evenly on the tongue without discomfort. If you want partial locking, choose a bit with a fixed ring, as a baucher, full cheek, and large Dee-ring make the mouthpiece fully locked. 

The large Dee-ring cheekpiece provides stability and control, facilitates steering, and limits lateral movement. An excellent choice for young, sensitive horses that don't consistently maintain contact, who need a little extra encouragement and control. However, the locking also adds a slight firmness to the bit, so it often needs to be paired with a slightly softer moving bit.
