This pelham is designed for horses in harness racing and driving training. The cheekpieces are slightly curved outwards so that the bit fits better on horses with a wider mouth. The reins can be attached in 5 different ways, which give different results and effects. The mildest option and the only one without leverage is to attach the reins to the lead ring. Then the reins can be attached increasingly lower - first directly under the mouthpiece and later to the designated holes in the shank. The strength of the bit's effect is regulated by the length of the curb chain and the placement of the reins - the lower the reins, the stronger the pressure on the lower jaw and poll.
Recommended for horses: in driving training, in harness racing.
Recommended for riders: experienced, aware of hand movements.
