Fager John is a double-jointed 2.5-ring bit. The bit is designed to be completely smooth on its surface, including the joints. The joints are designed and manufactured so that they never press against the palate or uncomfortably against the bars. The 2.5-rings allow for varying effects for different situations and horses:
